Nearly a century ago, our founder Kōnosuke Matsushita laid out a 250-year vision – ten 25-year periods that would give the company a cadence by which to evolve and grow. The name Panasonic Go, inspired by the Japanese word for “five,” marks the fifth chapter of this vision and symbolizes our forward momentum.

Founding & Early Electrical Innovation
In 1932, Kōnosuke Matsushita announced a 250-year plan for the company to fulfill its mission. This plan would expand the business’ focus on providing affordable, practical electrical products to improve health and happiness in everyday life. After World War II, Panasonic played a key role in rebuilding Japan’s economy by producing consumer electronics, including radios and household appliances.

Expansion & Global Reach
Panasonic grew significantly in Japan and internationally, establishing its first overseas factories and gaining recognition with innovations like VHS players and rice cookers, while supplying components for major global initiatives. It was in 1971 that the company registered for trading of its shares on the New York Stock Exchange.
